Cell
Shading Tutorial:
I
have a little technique you may or may not know about for getting
a cell shaded effect in 3DSMax (versions 3-5). It uses the Falloff
shader built into 3DSMax. I have a .zip which has all the files
you will need to duplicate exactly what I am doing.
The
best part is if you have a bitmap you want cell shaded you
can use this technique plus 3DMax's other built in feature,
the 'Output Panel', inside the Bitmap shader panel. By simply
decreasing this value inside the Output Amount you can get
a darkening effect to counter the effect of having your luminosity
all cranked up. Well, if that all makes sense, cool, if not,
grab the file (it has 3DSMax Scene files) and take a gander.

Robot Model Downloads:
The
two models below may be familiar to a few of you. They are
my low-poly versions of both Giant Robo and Gigantor. They
are some of my first low poly models (way back in the day).
I wanted to make them available for anyone who may want to
look at them of just use 'em for something.
They
are in 3DSMax 3.0/3.1 format. If enough people want them in
some other format, I'll see what I can do. The only thing
I ask is you have some fun with them..
Enjoy,
